Hi. My name is Sian and I am originally from Reading. I grew up in a sporty household and even as a young child I was very active in various sports, pursuing Gymnastics to a high standard into my mid teens, as well as swimming and badminton. My happy childhood and teenage years were shaped by these activities and I was able to achieve some good regional successes. I continued my interest in sports and completed a BSC in Sports Science at Wolverhampton University, which I followed with a PGCE at Reading University. Subsequently I taught PE in mainstream Secondary for 2 years and from here I moved across to teaching PE to all ages in Special Education, where I headed a PE department at Addington Special School in Woodley, Reading for 9 years. I moved to Winchester with my family in 2011 and took up a part time post as teacher at Shepherds Down Special School in Compton, where I teach a wide range of subjects to children with a plethora of special needs and ability levels, covering classroom, occupational therapy and PE. I have always loved working with young children and get enormous satisfaction from seeing them progress, with encouragement. With a young family of my own, I have been planning to start pre-school classes for some time, so now that the children are happily progressing at Western School I am delighted to have finally got cracking! I sincerely hope that I can bring something really unique and special for the children that attend my classes.
